About

A website you can actually forget about .

Most people land here a little worn out by their website. I'm Barb, and my job is the exhale. I build it right, keep it running, and hand you a website you genuinely never have to think about again.

Hi, I'm Barb.

The human behind it

The designer and problem-solver behind Kickstart Creatives.

Building a business is already a lot. Your website and tech should hold you up, not pile on more to do. Whether you need a brand new site, a custom tool that does the annoying thing for you, or someone to quietly keep it all running, you deserve options that fit how you actually work.

So that's what I do. I figure out what you actually need, I build it, and then I make sure it keeps working. You hire me, you get me. Not a team, not a handoff, not a support ticket that disappears into a void.

When I'm not building or untangling systems, I'm usually hanging out with my doodles, sipping coffee in front of my wood stove, or having my best ideas in the shower (because of course).

Why I work this way

Most web people build it and bail. I never could.

hand you a login, vanish forever. not my style.

You know the drill. You pay someone, they build a site, they email you a login and a tutorial video, and then they're gone. Six months later something breaks and you can't get a reply. Now your website is one more thing you worry about instead of a thing that just works.

I do it the other way around. The build is the beginning, not the goodbye. I tell you what you actually need, I tell you when something isn't worth paying for, and I keep it running long after launch. Your site is custom coded and it belongs to you. No rented land, no plugins breaking at 11pm, no platform raising its prices and dragging your bill up with it.

I'm one person, on purpose. That means I can't be everything to everyone, and I'd rather be upfront about that than overpromise. What you get instead is someone who knows your site, knows your business, and actually picks up.

Things you didn't know you needed to know

The stuff that isn't on my resume.

(but honestly explains a lot)

🏔️ Where I live

A small town in Alaska. Yes, it's cold. No, I don't live in an igloo.

💻 Open browser tabs

51, but I'm pretending it's under control.

🧦 Most worn item

Hoodies. Fuzzy socks a very close second.

🫣 Irrational fear

Hitting "send" on a client email and immediately spotting a typo I didn't see in the last 7 edits.

🧠 Biggest lie I tell myself

"I don't need to write it down, I'll remember."

🗂️ File naming strategy

🤪 Most Barb thing I've ever done

Explained DNS to a client using a pizza delivery metaphor, and it actually worked.

🎥 Favorite productivity hack

Pretending I'm being watched by a documentary crew.

Meet the team

I do have staff. They're just bad at email.

Sophie

Director of Discipline

📍 Alaska 💼 7 years of structure, sass, and passive-aggressive sighs

About:

Known For:

Silently judging poor decisions

Work Uniform:

Fluffy fur, clean paws, head tilt of judgment, always on patrol

Still here? Good.

Not sure what you need yet? That's completely fine.

Half my favorite projects started with someone saying exactly that. If any of this sounded like your kind of person, you already know where the buttons are. No pressure, no sales dance.
