I'm not for everyone,
and that's fine.

  • You want me to copy a competitor's site.

    I'll get inspired by what's working in your space, sure. But "make mine look exactly like theirs" isn't a brief, it's a tracing project. That's not how I roll.

  • You want a template with your logo on it and consider that custom.

    That's a real thing some people want. It's just not what I do.

  • You want to direct every design decision.

    Bring me a design you love, a mockup, a direction, all of that's welcome. Hand me the what, and let me handle the how.

  • You need someone on call around the clock.

    I'm great. I'm also one person. If you need a whole team reachable at any hour, that's not me, and I'd rather tell you now than let you down later.

  • You want it cheap and you want it tomorrow.

    I do good work and I charge fairly. Cheap and rushed isn't a combo I do.

The "tech bestie" thing isn't a marketing angle. It's just how I work.

I've been building websites for non-tech-people for over a decade, which means I've had a lot of practice explaining things in plain English. You hire me, you get me. Not a team, not a handoff, not a "support ticket." Just one real person who answers her own email and doesn't disappear after launch.

Real questions from real first calls. Not the FAQ generator's idea of an FAQ.

How long does this actually take?

It depends on the size of the website, my current availability, and how quickly feedback and approvals come back. I put the actual schedule in your proposal. If you have a date in mind, tell me early and I'll tell you what's realistic.

What do I need to have ready before we start?

Less than you think. I'll send you a list. Photos, copy, logo if you have one, basic info about your services. If you don't have copy, that's fine. Copy help is built into every website project. We start from a draft, you tell me what's right and what's wrong, we get to final.

I'm already on Squarespace. Can you move me off it?

Yes, and I do this all the time. We rebuild your site in custom code, map the addresses that need redirects, point your domain at the new one, and Squarespace becomes someone else's problem. Large content migrations get their own quote so nothing important is treated like a basic page.

Do I need to know anything technical?

No. That's literally why you're hiring me. If you've got "fixed the printer" on your resume, you have all the tech skills required to be my client.

What happens if it breaks after launch?

Daily automated availability monitoring means I'm usually the one who knows first, and I run a deeper website health check each week. I investigate technical problems tied to the existing build so you can go back to your day. Websites I host launch on Managed Hosting or Managed Care. Apps and tools launch with their ongoing hosting and care spelled out in the proposal.

Do you do my logo / branding / photography too?

Logo and branding, no. I have people I refer for that. AI imagery can be included in a website when it fits, or a larger image library can be quoted as an add-on. If you walk in with no brand assets and need everything, we figure out the order of operations on the call.

Will I be locked into anything?

Nope. Your site is yours, always. The code, the files, all of it. If you leave a management plan later, I provide the source files, available data, and a clear list of what needs to move. No holding your site hostage.
